WISDOM x URBAN RESEARCH | COLLABORATION
Since URBAN RESEARCH, a Japanese Fashion Brand, entered the Taiwan market, it has been attracting public attention with uniquely selected items and cross- border projects. In addition to importing Japanese and American styles of clothing, URBAN RESEARCH has taken Taiwan’s elements into their designs. Before this summer officially arrives, URBAN RESEARCH has been cooperating with WISDOM® to promote co-branded functional clothing. WISDOM® has also invited Ming Yu, an illustrator who was previously invited, to draw smiley faces for this co-branded effort. The co-branded products will be released on June 20th via selected stores and through URBAN RESEARCH and WHITEROCK’s websites.
The core design value of the co-branded cooperation of WISDOM®, URBAN RESEARCH and MING YU is a combination of Japanese and American elements. In fact, the fashion trends in Japan are deeply affected by the leisure and college culture in the US. Based on American leisure culture, WISDOM® has created a fresh and textured design, which makes the design extremely loose and comfortable. White and gray are the predominant colors which allow people to layer and mix and match. The gray plaid and striped fabrics are selected from Japanese manufacturers. The short-sleeved T-Shirt that suits the season also uses a 3M cotton fabric with excellent moisture absorption and perspiration resistance. The visual theme is also drawn by Ming Yu with a sporty college font. It is a combination of the classic Helvetica font and Ivy League elements, and is presented with a more natural hand-painted technique. In addition, there are printed and embroidered versions of smiley faces. The look of the overall shape combination is both casual and neat!
